Digital Photo Frames Add Touch... Wireless to Come

Techstination feature for Friday, September 25, 2009

Digital photo frames using wireless power. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Digital picture frames are finding their way into more and more households...and while they are great for a table top....the ability to hang them on a wall has been hampered by that dangling power cord. At Pandigital, the largest maker of digital frames, CEO Dean Finnegan says...the first wireless frames should arrive in the market in about two years...

"We are working diligently on wireless power, true wireless power, where we're transmitting power through the air. There are some major technology limitations that are slowing that process down but we expect to have a wireless power, true wireless power digital photo frame certainly by 2011 and hopefully by the fourth quarter of 2010."

For now, Pandigital continues to distinguish its products with, style, ease of use and the addition of touch screens. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at I'm Fred Fishkin.
