Windows 7 Adds Nice "Touches"

Techstination feature for Friday, October 23, 2009

Windows 7 adds some nice touches. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Apple first made multi-touch technology popular with the iPhone. Take two fingers and pinch to make a photo smaller...or move your fingers apart to make them bigger. Well, multi-touch capability is built into Windows 7....and lots of computer manufacturers are taking advantage of it. At Acer America....new laptops and desktops have it....including the all in one Gateway One ZX series in 20 or 23 inches. Senior product manager Raw Sawall says one of the goals was to keep them affordable...

"The 20 inch starts at around 700 dollars and the 23 inch starts a little north of 800 dollars. At 1399 you've pretty much hit the ceiling the 23 inch high end model."

Which would include both solid state and traditional hard drives. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
