Bargain Buying for the Holidays

Techstination feature for Wednesday, November 18, 2009

Bargain buying for the holidays. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. The Consumer Electronics Association says people will be buying more electronic gadgets and flat screen TVs and such this holiday season than last. But....they'll be spending less money. Association head Gary Shapiro.... says stores and manufacturers have been cutting prices already to attract buyers in a tough economy...

"The competition is so intense that we're seeing price drops that are pretty strong. So it's great news for consumers. They want the products and they're there at great prices for them. But from an industry perspective, if you're selling in this environment, it's very difficult. The competition is so intense from not only a price, but a product point of view. "

What will generate excitement. Ebook readers, new, smart mobile phones, media players like the iPod Touch and Zune HD and those ever cheaper flat screen TVs. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at I'm Fred Fishkin.
