Electronic Arts gets into electronic toys. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Until recently, sports games from Electronic Arts were titles like Madden Football and other games played on video game machines or computers. Now EA has partnered with Toy Island in a line of electronic sports toys that blend technology with physical game play. There are hockey sticks and baseball bats that provide crowd feedback when you make contact with the sweet spot. And there are Voice Command and Sure Shot lines. Toy Island CEO Bob Weinberg....
"This is a football item where you show it at various targets. It prompts you with the lights and you can play against one another or you can play on your own, basically against a computer, and it takes you through a whole game of football. When you get to the end it tells you you're on the thirty yard line, it's third and ten, and you have to throw to that receiver. "
