Taking photos over the holidays? How to make them better. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Remember those old commercials from Kodak...with the tag line...Open me first? Well times have changed...but one thing that hasn't is that the holidays are prime time for picture taking. Olympus Visionary photographer Anne Day... says her number one tip is ...
"Using a flash is almost always a bad idea, especially on some of the smaller consumer cameras because it tends to just make the faces look too white and the background look too dark."
Better to use windows or other available light...or a tripod for slower shutter speeds. And if you want better pictures of your kids....hand over your camera to someone else...
"I know for me, even though I'm a professional photographer, I have a really hard time getting my kids to pose for a picture."
You can hear the full interview with more tips at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
