Is 2010 the year the cable gets cut? I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Among the new gadgets coming out this year... the Boxee Box from D-Link. It's a stylish...not quite cube shaped device that connects to your TV and to the Internet...either wired or wireless....and connects you to TV shows and other video content...and to social networks at the same time. D-Link senior marketing director Dan Kelley...
"Well I think there's a lot of things that makes this box unique. I guess one of the most unique is that it will be an open platform. So the software is actually open so developers are more than welcome to start designing applications. I mean there's already about 300 applications available with the Boxee platform today."
Boxee software is available for PCs and Macs...but the idea behind the Boxee Box...similar to devices like Roku'....is to bring the experience onto the big screen. You can find us...with special reports this week from the Consumer Electronics Show... at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
