Better Entertainment System for Kids in the Back Seat

Techstination feature for Wednesday, January 20, 2010

A better entertainment system for kids...in the backseat. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Lots of parents have purchased vehicles with entertainment systems to keep their children occupied while on the road. But often, the headsets that come with those systems are designed for adults....making them too big for younger children. A company called Kidz Gear, that's Kidz with a z, is out with wireless car headphones that are the right size for children. VP Jack Peterson says another key feature is affordability...

"The pricing on our infrared headphones is 29.99. Now most infrared headphones are somewhere, 36 on up. The wired ones are 19.99 and actually can be found on the Web for around 16.99. And our Web site sells everything, including a transmitter that you could put in your home and use the infrareds at home."

The transmitter for the home runs about 15 dollars. You can find more information at gearforkidz.com....again that's kidz with a z. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
