Nikon Makes CoolPix Line Even Cooler

Techstination feature for Monday, February 15, 2010

Nikon makes its CoolPix line even cooler. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. There are some new arrivals to Nikon's CoolPix line of cameras....and while there's nothing quite as dramatic as last year's addition of a built in projector in the S100pj, the big news in a model called the CoolPix P100. It adds a CMOS sensor....and a high quality zoom lens to the picture. Senior technical manager Steve Heiner...

"The new CoolPix P100 offers a 10.3 megapixel back side illuminated CMOS sensor and enables us to do some pretty remarkable feats, gives us the ability to do full HD 1080p video with stereo sound. One of the other great features is that it has an amazing 26x optical zoom Nikkor ED, that stands for extra low dispersion glass, that's what we use in our SLR lenses as well."

The CoolPix P100 arrives next month, priced at under four hundred dollars. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
