McAfee Revamps Total Protection Suite

Techstination feature for Wednesday, February 24, 2010

McAfee revamps its Total Protection suite. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. There's lots of competition in the PC security business with companies like McAfee and Symantec facing a wide variety of challengers...some of which offer some pretty decent products for free. What McAfee has done with its Total Protection 2010 suite....is create a thorough protection product without a lot of overhead....meaning it doesn't slow your system down so much. What's new? Worldwide product marketing director David Klenske....

"Using our URL reputation rating we can warn users in advance of Web sites that might have malicious content. We actually have an in the cloud technology. So if someone wants to download something on their PC, before it even gets to their PC, we'll warn them and say, hey, this is a piece of malicious software, don't download it. "

A three PC license for McAfee's Total Protection 2010 Suite lists for about eighty dollars, but you can find it for less online. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
