A group of high school students....and a more than twenty five foot tall rocket. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. It is called the Rocket Project. Eight selected California high school students are being given computer equipment by Sony and Intel...along with other support....to help them launch a more than 500 pound rocket next month. They're being mentored by Tom Atchison of the Association of Rocket Mavericks. Sony's Ken Byers says the rocket should be capable of reaching the stratosphere...

"The original insight that really led to this is that these Sony Vaio computers with Intel core processors have more processing and computational power than the first rockets to go to the moon."
