The 3D TV push begins. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Some of the biggest names in TVs....including Panasonic, Samsung and Sony ... are announcing and rolling out their first 3D models. At Panasonic, which continues to advance its plasma line, senior product manager Kate Beck says adding 3D, essentially requires delivering two pictures at once...
"You'll be able to have dual 1080, which ...for right and left eye. So you'll dual scans so you'll be able to have full time HD in 3D." And on top of that and to go along with it, there'll be a Blu-ray player capable of 3D? "Obviously you would need, if you want to play back a pre-recorded 3D movie you would need a Blu-ray player, a TV, you'll also need glasses. We will have one set of glasses packed in the box with the TV."
So if you decide to jump into 3D...get ready to pay extra for glasses for the whole family. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
