"With the Bluetooth I have a smartphone, your typical BlackBerry. And depending on the model you can link it to the camera and you can control and watch through your phone, the camera. So you can almost use it as a remote control. You can set up the camera and then in your phone you can view what's being seen through the camera, you can zoom, you can start recording, you can stop recording, you can control everything remotely."

You can transmit still pictures from the camcorder using Bluetooth...and use a Bluetooth headset as a wireless microphone when shooting video. The GZ HM 550 sells for under 800 dollars.
