You're in the mall and need to find the nearest restroom. There's an app for that. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Where's the restroom... where's the greeting card shop....where did I park my car... An iPhone app called FastMall 2.0 can help. It's from a company called MindSmack where CEO Sam Feuer says ...just tell the app where you want to go...
"And then we'll guide you, basically, point by point until you reach your destination. And then we have a little yellow guy that actually hops up and down when you get to the location and says enjoy your stay at the store."
Merchants can use the app to present deals to customers. And Feuer says malls are just the start...
"Absolutely. We want to go to hospitals, airports, theme parks, conventions, stadiums. Wherever anybody would like to get maps indoors where we think it makes sense, like a hotel for example."
Work is underway to bring FastMall onto Android smartphones as well. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
