LED light bulbs become a brighter idea. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. LED light bulbs have been around for a while now, but the problem has been sky high pricing. But they are becoming more affordable. A new line of bulbs from Lighting Science Group arrived this month at Home Depot....and says Lighting Science GM Ted Russ....
"The first of this line of light bulbs, which will be the A19, basically a 40 watt equivalent you might put on a desk top lamp. That's going on sale in Home Depot for 19.97. So we've broken the 20 dollar barrier for an LED light bulb which will ...effectively if you were to buy this when your kid was born, more than likely, when he or she went to college. "
The bulb uses only one fifth the electricity. And prices, says Russ, will continue to fall. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
