Apple, the Big Apple and AT&T. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp a report on gadgets and gear. No doubt a new iPhone from Apple will mean you'll be seeing even more people using them. Apple has almost single handedly been responsible for straining the capacity of AT&T's network... especially in congested areas. So in the most congested place you can think of... in this country at least.... AT&T has introduced what it calls a Hot Zone... providing WiFi service in New York City's Times Square. AT&T's Mark Siegel...says this is different than the thousands of hot spots the company already had available...

"The hot spots are indoors. Think of places like McDonald's or Starbucks, airports, hotels. Typically they're inside. The virtue of this Hot Zone is that it's meant specifically for folks who are outside."

It's a pilot program. AT&T says if it is successful, it may be rolled out in other cities around the country. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
