A Vacation Camera for Traveling Light

Techstination feature for Friday, June 18, 2010

A vacation camera for traveling light. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. There are pocket sized digital cameras. And then there are digital SLR systems with multiple lenses and flashes. What FujiFilm has done with the FinePix HS-10, is built a hybrid camera with a manual thirty times optical zoom. Director of Marketing Dave Troy...

"The manual zoom capabilities make it astoundingly fast to be able to focus and change your zoom length. Add to that the benefit of not having to purchase a variety of different stabilized lenses."

Granted, the sensor size is not what you get in a digital SLR, but the results from the HS-10 are pretty impressive. It includes an LCD screen that tilts...and an electronic viewfinder that senses and turns on when the camera is brought up to your eye. Add to that...HD and high speed video...with a price tag of about 450 dollars. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
