3D With No Glasses: Nintendo 3DS

Techstination feature for Friday, June 25, 2010

3D with no glasses. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. 3D movies and 3D TV are attracting lots of interest these days. But having to wear those special glasses to get the 3D effects...isn't so much fun. So Nintendo is winning some headlines for a handheld game machine...even though it may not go on sale until next year. The 3DS will allow 3D game play without glasses...and will be capable of playing 3D movies as well. Nintendo executive VP for sales and marketing Cammie Dunaway...

"This is bringing real 3D experiences right into everyone's hands without the need for any sort of special glasses. It really will revolutionize game play."

Rival Sony is bringing 3D to its PlayStation 3 game console...but that will require a 3D capable TV and those glasses. More in an upcoming report. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at I'm Fred Fishkin.
