When it comes to video game consoles, the biggest advantage Sony has had over its rivals has been the inclusion of a Blu-ray player in the PlayStation 3. And now Sony is touting the ability, with the latest update, for the PS3 to play 3D movies and games. Product marketing VP Scott Steinberg says 3D games will give players a whole new experience...
" We think games will be a great entrant point for consumers to get into a whole new layer of entertainment value. Gaming and 3D is more immersive. It's more breathtaking."
And also more expensive. Besides a PS3, you'll also need a 3D capable TV and glasses. But the game console can double as a Blu-ray 3D movie player as well. Sony's new Move controller system will also arrive later this year. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
