A Lenovo laptop with 3D. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. 3D is everywhere these days and that includes the latest laptop from Lenovo...the IdeaPad Y560d. Lenovo's Kevin Beck...
"Our Y series is our consumer notebook series that's targeted specifically at the high end of gamers and power users. So we thought it was just natural that that would be the first place that we would add 3D."
Pricing starts at about 12 hundred dollars, but Beck says the standard being used is not compatible with 3D BlueRay for movies. The system is designed more for 3D games. And there's no need for expensive active shutter glasses...
"Any sort of regular polarized glasses or these little clip-ons will work."
The laptop can also upconvert regular DVDs or even photos to give the appearance of 3D. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
