An iPhone App for Ooma

An iPhone app for Ooma. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. The Internet based phone service Ooma, which allows subscribers who buy their equipment to avoid monthly phone bills, is out with a new iPhone app. Download it for 9.99 and you can make calls from an iPhone without using minutes in your calling plan. And the caller ID will display your Ooma home number. VP Dennis Peng...

"Once you have downloaded the app, you can make phone calls anywhere in the U.S. and the cost is 1.9 cents per minute. And you can also make calls outside the U.S. and you pay our international rates which are very competitive and about the same as Skype."

You can save money by placing calls through Ooma and opting for a cheaper calling plan. The app also works with the iPad and iPod touch. At the moment, it works only with outgoing calls. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
