A New Smart Pen From Livescribe

Techstination feature for Monday, July 19, 2010

A new smart pen from Livescribe. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Livescribe's Pulse smartpens have been winning fans with their ability to link written notes with recorded speech and transform them into documents and so called Pencast files for PCs and Macs. They also run apps like language translation. Now Livescribe is announcing the Echo smartpen with a new shape... a standard micro USB connector and standard ear bud jack. Beyond that, marketing director Eric Pettit says...

"We have a new feature called launch line that makes it much easier to access applications. Draw a line and then write the name of the app and you can access that application immediately. You can also password protect your recordings and your Paper Replay sessions."

The 2 gig Pulse Smartpen has dropped in price to about 130 dollars...while the 4 gig Echo is at 170 and an 8 gig version at 200. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
