An updated home video security system from Logitech. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Logitech's acquisition of a company called WiLife a couple of years ago gave it a foothold in the video security business. Now the company, known for a variety of PC add-ons, has announced systems under the brand Logitech Alert. The cameras, indoor or outdoor, simply need to be plugged into an electrical outlet. Senior global product manager Alex Zaliauskas says the system can send email alerts when motion is detected...
"Once that email is received, whether you're on a PC with an Internet connection or on an iPhone, BlackBerry or an Android device, it allows you to log in and immediately view the camera video live from anywhere you are."
With no subscription required although there are premium services available. The starter indoor master system is priced at under three hundred dollars. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
