Digital Photography Tool for Hobbyists & Pros: Lightroom 3

Techstination feature for Monday, August 9, 2010

A digital photography tool for pros and hobbyists. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Adobe Systems makes the most popular digital photography software around....with Photoshop aimed at and priced at the high end ....and Photoshop Elements for pretty much everyone else. But Adobe Lightroom 3 falls somewhere in the middle....providing image organization and editing capability valuable to pros and consumers...especially those who have invested in digital SLRs. Senior product manager Tom Hogarty....says for instance...

"One of the things we really wanted to do with image quality is kind of reach into your camera bag and extend the gear you already have. So with the new noise reduction abilities we're really extending the effective capabilities of your sensor by one or two stops, you can shoot in lower light and still get really impressive results."

Upgrade and student-teacher editions are under a hundred dollars. The full version is about 300. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at I'm Fred Fishkin.
