Sony Ericsson's Xperia X10 Android

Techstination feature for Monday, August 16, 2010

Sony Ericsson's Xperia X10 Android. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Sporting a 4 inch touch screen, a fast processor, an 8 megapixel camera and some neat new software touches from Sony Ericsson, AT&T is launching the Xperia X10 Android. Sony Ericsson's marketing chief for North America, Peter Farmer says software called Mediascape is one of the features that sets the phone apart...

"So one of the things Sony Ericsson does quite well is obviously things in the entertainment area. So whether that's music or pictures or etcetera, etcetera. And what this device does is it actually brings together the online media as well as all of your music, pictures and video all in one place."

The added software, says Farmer, is why the Xperia X10 is shipping with Android version 1.6. With version 2.2 arriving on some rival phones, Sony Ericsson says the Xperia, selling for a hundred fifty dollars, will be upgradable.
