A Green Genius to save money on your electric bill. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. There are more and more devices coming to market designed to control the wasting of electricity in your house. A company called Accell is out with a surge protector power strip called the Green Genius. Marketing director Michael Weizer....

"The way it works is actually quite simple. You have your PC plugged into the master outlet, and all the other devices that rely on your PC like your printer or your scanner, maybe an external hard drive and your monitor, plugged into the energy saving outlets. When you shut off your computer, the energy saving outlets actually shut down."

The power savings can add up. There are models of the Green Genius designed for the home office and for home theatres. Pricing starts at about forty dollars. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
