Stressed out by technology? You're not alone. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Computers, email, mobile phones, printers...all of that stuff... all part of everyday life. But when it doesn't work, look out. A Harris survey conducted for Intel found 80 percent of U.S. adults get frustrated waiting for technology and more than half have done something out of character when that happens. Psychology expert Cooper Lawrence, who partnered with Intel, says there are differences when it comes to gender...
"Women are more frustrated than men." Why would that be? "This is what's so interesting. When they actually have them do tasks, they find that they are equally as competent, but women perceive themselves as less competent. Women don't think that they understand technology the way men do and of course that's not true. "
Intel employs a host of people who study our interactions with technology. Of course, their hope is you'll buy a faster PC ... to ease some of the frustration. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
