Trend Micro rolls out its new Titanium protection for PCs. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Companies that make software to protect your PCs from viruses and other threats have some pretty sharp disagreements about whether some of the free products on the market are good enough. At Trend Micro, global director of education David Michael Perry says bluntly...
"I would seriously, seriously think twice before trusting my system to free protection."
Perry says the new Titanium protection products from Trend Micro, with prices starting at 40 dollars, offer protection against the old fashioned viruses and against the more serious malware threats...which evolve so rapidly that the old style methods of downloading definitions are of little use...
"Computer malware is not crashing your system. It's not slowing your system down. It's picking your pocket."
What Trend Micro does is block or warn you about threats from the Web...before you land on sites that may pose a danger. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
