The Halo franchise continues. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Even before the arrival this month of Halo Reach for the Xbox 360, sales of games in the Halo series had topped 34 million. And although Halo Reach is the last installment being created by Bungie Studios, Microsoft has no intention of letting this be the end. Franchise Development Director Frank O'Connor says fans should not give up on a Halo movie either....
"There was a movie deal years ago with Peter Jackson and those guys. And really, after that sort of fell apart, we're not in any particular hurry to do it. We want to protect and nurture the franchise and not rush into anything we don't want to do. So when the time is right and when there's a great script and when there's a great partner, I'm sure it will happen."
Some game franchises, Prince of Persia, Lara Croft, Final Fantasy and Resident Evil to name a few... have had more success than others in making the jump to film. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
