Kodak Innovates With Collages and Photo Books

Techstination feature for Monday, September 27, 2010

Kodak innovates in printing collages and books. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Getting a collection of photos to fit just right in a collage frame is never easy. Kodak is changing that with a system it calls PYNK. P-Y-N-K. At stores where it's available, you pick a frame with a PYNK smart ID, enter that into the Kodak printing kiosk, pick the images from your memory card that you want to use, and the photos are arranged on a single sheet that fits perfectly into the collage frame. Kodak, in the meantime, has also simplified the printing of photo books. The secret, says product marketing director Jo Body...is what the company calls SMARTFIT technology...

"It allows you to tell your story at the touch of a button, doing all the hard work for you by aligning all of your pages with event segmentation. Which is basically taking the date and the time of capture and laying it out for you so it is aesthetically pleasing on the page."

There are various designs and layouts available through the Kodak Gallery site. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
