The coming competition for Apple's iPad. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Apple's iPad ...like the iPhone and iPod that came before... continues to win fans with its elegant design and simplicity. And what was missing in version one, like a camera, will likely be added in version two. In the meantime, Samsung has announced the Galaxy Tab. It will feature Google's Android operating system and will be sold by all of the big mobile carriers. At the announcement, pricing was left a mystery. And while Chief Stategy Officer Omar Khan says....
"It will set the standard for the portable, mobile tablet."
It's smaller size makes it more portable than the iPad. But that can be good and bad. In the meantime, Hewlett Packard has announced the eStation printer, that includes an Android based tablet that sits in a cradle. The price about 400 dollars. You can browse the Web, check email, listen to music...but you can't connect to the Android Marketplace for apps. It's just the start. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
