The latest digital SLR camera from Pentax. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Pentax calls it the K-r, a new mid price range digital SLR camera with a 12.4 megapixel sensor and the capability of shooting high def video in 720p. For Pentax fans, they'll find the new model picks up with the K-x left off. Product manager Chris Pound...
"We didn't just come up with a new camera or a re-designed K-x, we took and added features to it. So, for example, the speed is going to be much higher. It's going to have around 6 frames per second maximum speed. We revamped the autofocus system. And the components are much more highly transparent. It's going to be a lot snappier, a lot more responsive, even in lower lighting."
Pentax has differentiated itself with color...and the K-r is available in either white, black or red for about 850 dollars with a lens. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
