Rock Band 3 brings new instruments and new ways to play. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology Boot Camp, a report on gadgets and gear. The game creators at Harmonix have hit a new high note with the latest version of their music video game. Rock Band 3 will work with the instruments you may already have from previous versions of Rock Band or Guitar Hero...and includes an 83 song set list. More downloadable content is on the way...including John Lennon's Imagine album. Beyond that, fans can now buy a keyboard...and add on guitars are on the way that will bring new realism to Pro mode. Project director Daniel Sussman...
"This is sort of the first time in the music gaming world where the hardware controllers that complement the game are actual instruments. In the case of the keyboard, it's a MIDI keyboard. It's two octaves."
And a guitar arriving next year, in partnership with Fender, is a real guitar that can also be used in the game. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
