The germs on your cell phone. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. You know you're supposed to wash apples and blackberries before you eat them. But what about when you talk on them? No matter what kind of mobile phone you use, it is laden with germs according to a company called Violight. It is out with a battery operated UV cell phone sanitizer and the company's Jonathan Pinsky says in four minutes it can eliminate nearly all of the germs...
"Well think about it. Everything that you touch all day. Everything that you touch that other people touch. Those germs now get on your cell phone. You put your cell phone down. And now you're taking your cell phone and you're actually putting it next to your face, next to your ear, next to your mouth."
He makes a good case for using a headset, which by the way, can also be sanitized in the Violight cleaner which sells for about fifty dollars. The company's been in the business of making toothbrush sanitizers and the like for some time. You can find more info at cellphone.violight.com. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
