A computer keyboard powered by light. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. No wires and no batteries. When it comes to the coolest keyboard of the year, Logitech's new K750 is hard to beat. It is a full sized keyboard with solar panel strips across the top right and left sides and works with a tiny unifying remote receiver. Meaning that same unit can pair with Logitech cordless mice as well. Because there are no standard batteries, the K750 is just a third of an inch thick. Senior product marketing manager Guy Raebar says typical room lighting will keep the keyboard going...
"So as indoor light can power the keyboard, it doesn't require you to sit by a window to type. The keyboard is able to recharge using the dim light found in living rooms, in home offices."
How much green will the ultimate green keyboard set you back? About 80 dollars. It's designed for Windows but can work with Macs as well. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
