The World of Warcraft has expanded again.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.     If there has been an increase in absenteeism in offices or college classrooms of late, some of the blame probably lies with the folks at Blizzard Entertainment.   They are out with World of Warcraft Cataclysm….an expansion pack two years in the making for the game that has lured in more than 12 million players around the world…who subscribe.   Why is it so popular?   Game director Tom Chilton…

“The number one reason I can put my finger on, that goes beyond, the game mechanics are well refined, the quest system gives people a very directed experience so they know what they’re supposed to do and where to go.  But I think on the biggest level, it’s that the world has a soul.  and has a certain character and invites you to explore and see more.”
