eReaders, iPads, the Kinect and Move. They’ve all been hot this holiday season. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. When it comes to what consumers have been clamoring for this year…Apple’s iPad, Microsoft’s Xbox Kinect and Sony’s PlayStation Move have been at the top of many lists. And so have ereaders….with Amazon’s Kindle getting some real competition from Barnes & Noble with its new Nook Color. It has a sharp 7 inch color screen as the name implies, WiFi, Web browsing, MP3 music playback and some apps…but not full access to the Android Marketplace. Jamie Iannone is digital products president at Barnes & Noble…
“This is like a whole new level of reading experience, Fred. We’re positioning it as the reader’s tablet. It has rich, colorful content which has really never been available before. And magazines look great.”
There’s a lot to like in the Nook Color. The price, about 250 dollars. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
