Cooking with your iPhone: iGrill

Techstination feature for Thursday, January 13, 2011

Cooking with your iPhone.    I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.      An iPhone or iPad can help you do more than look up recipes when it comes to helping around the kitchen.   A company called iDevices makes a thermometer called the iGrill…that works in conjunction with an app.   CEO Chris Allen…

So basically in the iGrill, we have a Bluetooth enabled thermometer.  A probe that will be inserted into your meat, either in your oven or in your grill or on the cooktop.  Once that’s inserted you can set the alarm via the app on your iPhone currently or on the device itself.    And it also supports two probes.  So if you wanted to watch two things at the same time you could do that and also set alarms for each of those.”

Pretty cool…or maybe  hot is a better description.   The price, about a hundred dollars.   There’s more info at iGrillinc.com.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
