When it comes to tablet computers, consumers will have lots of choices this year. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Apple didn’t have a whole lot of competition last year when it introduced the iPad. But this year will be a different story. Among those entering the category is Toshiba, where product manager Carrie Cowan says…
“We’re really focused on delivering a high quality audio and visual experience in our tablet. And that starts with the screen which is really the heart and soul of what a tablet is all about. And we’ve got some really cool and unique technologies that we feel are really going to separate ourselves from our nearest competitor. The first of which is we’re a wide screen display. We are running a 1280 by 800 screen resolution as well as a 16 by 10 aspect ratio. So you have much more screen real estate for browsing the Web, watching movies in their more natural format as well as playing games.”
Toshiba’s tablet is due to arrive this spring. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
