Line 2 coming to more phones

Techstination feature for Monday, January 24, 2011

Line 2 is coming to more phones.    I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp,  a report on gadgets and gear.       Line 2, a top notch voice over IP service from Toktumi, is expanding onto Android devices… giving them the same second line capability available on the iPhone.    In fact, in the Apple world, Line 2 provides a phone number to the iPad and iPod Touch as well.    CEO Peter Sisson says the company is looking at Windows Phone 7 as another potential platform.   And the advantage of using Line 2 over Google Voice or Skype?

“With our app, 9.95 a month gets you carrier grade texting and calling.  That means you can send and receive texts to any phone on any network and it’s all included in the price.”

It works over WiFi or a data connection and can save you money by letting you cut your voice plan to a minimum and eliminate phone company charges for texting.   You can find more information at   You can find us at   I’m Fred Fishkin.
