Kodak making more cameras water ready

Techstination feature for Tuesday, February 8, 2011

Kodak is making more cameras water ready.    I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    It wasn’t too long ago when you needed special underwater housing to take any kind of camera under water.   Now the trend is to make cameras rugged and waterproof.  At Kodak, future product marketing director Pete Palermo says…

“We’ve got two products that are waterproof.  One is the EasyShare Sport digital camera.  That’s a fixed focus product with a 12 megapixel sensor in it, 2 and a half inch LCD.  Good to ten feet, so great for families horsing around in the backyard, going to the beach, hiking, biking, etc.   The second product is generation two of the Kodak PlaySport pocket video camera.  Gen 2 is not only waterproof to ten feet, but it’s also shockproof from five feet, it’s dustproof. ”

And the new models will also be affordable…some under one hundred dollars.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
