The iPhone arrives on Verizon Wireless. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. AT&T’s long running exclusive hold on the iPhone in the U.S. has ended. Rival Verizon Wireless is now selling the iPhone 4. Existing Verizon customers were able to get a jump ordering the phones last week. Now the doors are open to all. Whether AT&T or Verizon is better for you depends upon how good signals are where you live, work and travel to. AT&T’s network allows you to use the data and voice networks at the same time. Verizon’s doesn’t. Verizon has added a mobile hotspot feature. The company’s Brenda Raney….
“It allows you to use the iPhone 4 as a modem and then connect up to five other devices over WiFi. And that feature is 20 dollars a month for 2 gigs.”
The winners here are consumers…who will have a choice ….and, of course, Apple. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
