What's to like in Windows Phone 7

Techstination feature for Friday, April 1, 2011

What’s to like about Windows Phone 7?    I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Microsoft has been trailing the likes of Apple, Google and Research in Motion when it comes to smartphones.    But some of the latest Windows Phone 7 handsets, like the HTC Arrive from Sprint,  have features that should win some fans.   The Arrive has a slide out keyboard and a display that tilts.   And with Windows Phone 7, Microsoft senior product manager Greg Sullivan says…

“For smartphones, people expect them to do things like keep track of the people I care about and all of the ways I communicate with them.   Keep track of my music and my games and let me connect to broader networks of people like Xbox Live.  Bring together information on my behalf so I don’t have to go launching app after app and kind of integrating it all in my head.”

Microsoft is promising some new capabilities…and handsets from Nokia…later this year.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
