Using robots to steer kids towards science, math and engineering. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. The second annual National Robotics Week gets underway next week with more than twenty four thousand kids around the country taking part in all kinds of events and competitions ranging from a Boy Scouts Merit Badge Workshop to seminars for kids at the Smithsonian. iRobot, which has pioneered robotic vacuums as well as military robots, is among the sponsors and the company’s Dr. Kristin Stubbs says….
“National Robotics Week is really all about highlighting the importance of robotics both to America’s economy and to our future innovation. So it’s an opportunity for those of us in the robotics industry to kind of share with the public what we do and how robots are helping people right now. And it’s also a really important opportunity to get kids excited.”
