Cisco adds faster, better connections to new Linksys routers

Techstination feature for Wednesday, April 13, 2011

The latest new routers from Cisco’s Linksys.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Linksys is out with new E series routers designed to provide faster connections and  says Cisco’s Karen Sohl, better coverage….

Which is really what a lot of customers are asking for today because you do have two or three story homes including a basement.  I mean you have kids that are upstairs and sometimes it’s been hard to get the wireless signal up into those rooms.  So these new configurations help in getting better range and better performance at range.  So consumers can have a better experience now that they’re streaming video or music or doing a lot more file transferring or just want better overall  performance in their home network.”

Pricing for the E series starts at about 60 dollars for the E 1200 and goes up to 179 dollars for the E 4200, with dual band and gigabit features.    You can find us with archives, interviews and more at  I’m Fred Fishkin.
