GoPro cameras go 3D.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   GoPro, a company that makes little cameras that mount on helmets, handlebars, surfboards and more, is out with a new gadget that turns two of its HD Hero cameras into a 3D camcorder.   Founder and CEO Nick Woodman….

You drop both cameras into a single housing, waterproof housing.   And the cameras a locked together via a synchronization cable that forces them to shoot in 3D.  But then, of course, the next day if you want to use the cameras independently you can take them out of the housing and use them as two totally separate cameras.   So it’s an incredibly versatile system.”

The 3D housing costs 99 dollars.   The GoPro Hero HD cameras, which are good enough to produce footage for a number of TV shows,  sell for about 260 dollars.   There’s more info at GoPro.com.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
