A new, free site for streaming movies. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. It’s called PopcornFlix, a site launched by independent film distributor Screen Media. The biggest difference between the site and others like Amazon or Neflix, is that it’s free, supported by advertising. Another big difference is that you won’t find a lot of very well known movies on the site. That doesn’t mean there aren’t some good ones, but you may have to hunt around a bit. Senior VP Gary Delfiner…
“There’ll be pre-roll advertising and some breaks along the way. And you get to choose from a whole host of different genres. The movies on there are super high quality. Most of them have big stars. And many of them, at least to start, come from our library of which we have one of the largest libraries outside of studios, of over 15 hundred movies.”
The site, again, is PopcornFlix.com. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
