A sprinkler system that knows how much to water.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.      Rain Bird is out with new SST sprinkler system controllers that add a lot of smarts.   Instead of simply working as a timer that turns sprinklers on or off, the SST Smart system determines how much watering is needed.   Corporate marketing director Dave Johnson….

“All you do is set the initial minutes, set it to auto, and then the sensor that comes with it measures rainfall as well as temperature as well as historical weather data programmed right into the controller and it adjusts itself up or down based on that weather and historical data.”
