How an iPad can help with physical therapy. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. No, the iPad doesn’t weigh enough for you to use it in exercises. And you really wouldn’t want to drop it. But an app called Motion Doctor, created by physical therapist Dr. Desirea Caucci, can help to prevent injuries or assist in recovery….
“So you basically go into the app and if you say, I have a shoulder problem, you can click the shoulder selection and that will take you to a list of exercises and stretches that I felt were the most important in preventing pain for the shoulder region. So similarly, if you’re a golfer, you can go to the golf section and it goes from head to toe, a list of different exercises and stretches that a golfer can do to promote strength and flexibility in the areas needed for each sport.”
The Motion Doctor app costs about fifteen dollars and is full of videos to step you through each of the exercises. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
