Too many apps to choose from? I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. How much time do you spend browsing for apps for your smartphone. Sprint has come up with a clever solution to help consumers find those that are useful to them with what it calls Sprint ID. Communications manager Amy Johnsonbaugh….
“Now that there’s over 150 thousand apps in Android Market, this is a very simple way for consumers to press one button and get in a single download, a package of apps, widgets, ringtones, wallpapers, that are tailored to their interests, such as health and fitness, fashion and beauty and now we have a green ID pack. For instance, it has things from Treehugger.com, it has news from Earth911, an app from Earth911 called iRecycle where you can find out local places to recycle everything from batteries to paint.”
There are ID packs for golfing and car enthusiasts, others geared to business and more. They work on about half a dozen Android phones…including the upcoming Samsung Replenish. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
