More kids’ toys go online. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Toymakers are creating more and more toys and collectibles for kids…that tie in to Web sites. With a boost from the ABC TV program Shark Tank, three siblings got funding for their idea for bracelets that hold collectible coins that can be traded and tracked online. Flipoutz are now being marketed by Wild Creations and co-founder Lachlan Johnson says…
“It’s a silicone bracelet. It holds five different coins. You wear the coins that mean something to you. It’s all about positive messages, self expression. On the back of each coin is a ten digit code. When you log in to Flipoutz.com, you type in that code and you can blog about your coin, make your own profile page, write about what that coin means to you.”
You can track the travels of the coins as they get traded from person to person. The site again is Flipoutz.com. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
